  • Stories Around the Table Authors at AUSA Oct. 13 – 14, 2014

    To celebrate the official launch of Stories Around the Table: Laughter, Wisdom, and Strength in Military Life, several authors will gather in Washington, DC, at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting, at the Walter E Washington Convention Center, to sign books and talk with conference attendees about their experience being part of this compelling work. Mon., Oct. 13, 1-3 PM and Tues., Oct. 14, 10 AM - Noon ET.

  • Caban, Davis, Hilton Participate in USAA Social Exchange Nov. 5-6, 2014

    Angela Caban, Judy Davis, and Jeremy Hilton, coauthors of Stories Around the Table: Laughter, Wisdom, and Strength in Military Life, are among the military spouse key influencers invited to USAA Headquarters in San Antonio, Texas, Nov 5-6, to attend the USAA Social Exchange 2014, USAA's fifth annual networking conference. The purpose of this annual event is to join a select community, military and industry influencers, to discuss how the participants can leverage their collective social networks to create shared value for military families.

Author and editor Marly Cornell will sign books throughout the day. Author and publisher Karen Pavlicin-Fragnito will sign books in the afternoon.     Stories Around the Table coauthors Karen Pavlicin-Fragnito, Briley Rossiter, and Starlett Henderson will share their stories and lead a workshop at the Dove Self Esteem Project's 2nd Annual Real Beauty "Women of the Military" event Wed., May 13, 2015, 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM ET, at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. All three speakers, along with coauthor and event coordinator Tara Crooks, will sign books following the event. The luncheon is free, but space is limited so please register early.

    Stories Around the Table authors Janine Boldrin, Jacey Eckhart, Jeremy Hilton, Holly Scherer, and Amanda Trimillos will talk with school liaisons, military leaders, educators, and other attendees at the Military Child Education Coalition's 17th National Training Seminar (NTS), July 30-31, 2015, in Washington, DC. The event includes a booksigning on Thursday, July 30, 5:15–6PM in the MCEC Bookstore and discussions at Table TT20 in the Expo on Thursday and Friday.

  • Barnes Shares Column-Writing Insights at National High School Journalism Convention

    Terri Barnes, Elva Resa’s senior editor and the creator of a popular and long-running column in Stars and Stripes, led a workshop called “Becoming A Columnist” at the Spring National High School Journalism Convention in San Francisco , California, April 14, 2018. She also served as a judge for the Write-Off Contest at the convention, which is co-sponsored by the Journalist Education Association and the National Scholastic Press Association. With more than 4,000 delegates from hundreds of schools, the JEA/NSPA convention is the largest gathering of student journalists in the country.

  • Barnes to Talk About the Power of Stories at MSOY Town Hall, May 9, 2018

    Elva Resa’s senior editor, Terri Barnes, will speak about “Telling Your Story” at the 2018 Military Spouse of the Year Town Hall on May 9, 2018, in Washington, DC. Drawing on her expertise as a journalist, author, and book editor, Barnes will talk to a gathering of military spouses and military supporters from across the nation about the power of story to convey important messages, and how to tell personal stories effectively. The Town Hall is free and open to all military spouses. Registration by May 2 is required.

  • Seasons of My Military Student Coauthors at MCEC NTS July 23-25, 2018

    Amanda Trimillos, EdD, and Stacy Allsbrook-Huisman, coauthors of Seasons of My Military Student: Practical Ideas for Parents and Teachers, will appear at Military Child Education Coalition's 2018 National Training Seminar, July 23–25, 2018, in Washington, DC. The authors will be featured at the Resource and Leadership Showcase on July 24, 11:45 AM – 1:30 PM Eastern, and will sign books at the showcase as well as later that afternoon at 5 PM at the onsite MCEC Bookstore.

  • Trimillos, Huisman Share Milkid Seasons of Transition(TM) at MIC3 2018 Annual Business Meeting

    Amanda Trimillos, EdD, and Stacy Allsbrook-Huisman, coauthors of Seasons of My Military Student: Practical Ideas for Parents and Teachers, will present at the Military Interstate Children's Compact Commission (MIC3)'s annual business meeting October 17 and 18, 2018, in Cleveland, Ohio. At the event, Amanda and Stacy will talk about the Seasons of TransitionTM, the cycle of transitions a military-connected student experiences when frequently changing schools due to a parent’s military service. They will also offer tips for education leaders to help parents and teachers understand and implement the provisions of the Interstate Compact.
