Holly Scherer traveled from Virginia to attend the Midwest Book Awards. Her book Military Spouse Journey was selected as one of the Midwestern region’s top three self-help books of 2013. Coauthor Kathie Hightower was unable to make the festivities in person, so in true military family style, Holly brought a Flat Kathie to the party.
