Corie Weathers is the author of Sacred Spaces: My Journey to the Heart of Military Marriage. She helps military and first-responder couples be intentional in their marriages and invites all married couples to join her Sacred Spaces Campaign.
A licensed professional counselor (LPC), Corie is a sought after speaker and consultant. She started her career as a counselor specializing in marriage, divorce, women’s issues, and substance abuse. Certified to work with post-traumatic stress by the Center for Deployment Psychology, Corie found her passion working to build stronger relationships with military and first responder couples.
Corie was awarded the 2015 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year (MSOY) by Military Spouse magazine. As MSOY, she advocated for mental health issues and served as a media correspondent writing for online and print publications, consulting for command teams, and speaking to groups on topics such as PTSD, grief, and marriage. She speaks nationally on marriage and women’s issues and provides leadership development for organizations and businesses.
Corie is also the creator and host of Lifegiver Military Spouse Podcast, offering a positive place for honest conversations about military marriage as well as interviews with inspirational guests. She currently serves as an ambassador for the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation, a nonprofit that aims to improve the marriages of military and first-responder couples.
Corie and her husband Matthew, an Army Chaplain, have worked to support service members and families involved with the War on Terrorism. Corie cohosts marriage retreats with her husband and offers an online marriage program (Enliven Marriage) designed to improve intimacy and connection. They currently live in Virginia with their two sons.
