Barnes & Noble is hosting an Educator Appreciation Event featuring author Elizabeth Raum at 2 PM Sun., Oct. 11, 2015 at Barnes & Noble Store #2606 in Fargo. Elizabeth will talk about how she creates books for young readers, including historical nonfiction and fiction books. Copies of her picture book, Cedric and the Dragon, will be available for sale at the event.

Lori McElrath-Eslick’s Art Showcased in Grand Rapids Sept 23-Oct 11, 2015

Illustrator Lori McElrath-Eslick's artwork is being showcased as part of ART Prize September 23—October 11, 2015, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Lori's work on exhibit is an original oil on canvas painting published in the children's magazine Cricket. The painting illustrates a poem by Children's Poet Laureate, J. Patrick Lewis, titled "BALLAD FOR MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. 1963." The painting is on exhibit in the front window of Oppenheimer & Co.

Elva Resa author Judy Davis will co-present a Suicide Prevention Faculty Seminar on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 12 noon at Texas Tech University in Room TLPDC 153. As part of Suicide Prevention Week, the interactive event will provide insight for addressing the warning signs and at risk behaviors indicative of suicide and depression at colleges.
