She'll join other industry experts to discuss educational publishing and special sales markets. Both sessions are geared toward intermediate-experienced publishers.

Trimillos, Huisman Share Milkid Seasons of Transition(TM) at MIC3 2018 Annual Business Meeting
Amanda Trimillos, EdD, and Stacy Allsbrook-Huisman, coauthors of Seasons of My Military Student: Practical Ideas for Parents and Teachers, will present at the Military Interstate Children's Compact Commission (MIC3)'s annual business meeting October 17 and 18, 2018, in Cleveland, Ohio. At the event, Amanda and Stacy will talk about the Seasons of TransitionTM, the cycle of transitions a military-connected student experiences when frequently changing schools due to a parent’s military service. They will also offer tips for education leaders to help parents and teachers understand and implement the provisions of the Interstate Compact.

Elva Resa’s senior editor, Terri Barnes, will speak about “Telling Your Story” at the 2018 Military Spouse of the Year Town Hall on May 9, 2018, in Washington, DC. Drawing on her expertise as a journalist, author, and book editor, Barnes will talk to a gathering of military spouses and military supporters from across the nation about the power of story to convey important messages, and how to tell personal stories effectively. The Town Hall is free and open to all military spouses. Registration by May 2 is required.
Barnes Shares Column-Writing Insights at National High School Journalism Convention
Terri Barnes, Elva Resa’s senior editor and the creator of a popular and long-running column in Stars and Stripes, led a workshop called “Becoming A Columnist” at the Spring National High School Journalism Convention in San Francisco , California, April 14, 2018. She also served as a judge for the Write-Off Contest at the convention, which is co-sponsored by the Journalist Education Association and the National Scholastic Press Association. With more than 4,000 delegates from hundreds of schools, the JEA/NSPA convention is the largest gathering of student journalists in the country.
