Ana Stevenson is the translator of ¡Atrapa la estrella!, a picture book about a soldier and his son who play catch with the North Star during the father’s military deployment.
In order to maintain the lyrical quality present in the English edition, Night Catch, Ana contextually translated the story and collaborated with editor Gabriella Aldeman to create the near-rhyme pattern in Spanish.
Ana has been a multilingual, multicultural translator for more than 25 years. She loves to work with children’s literature to help bridge cultural understanding. Born in Santiago, Chile, she has traveled extensively and lived on four continents.
Ana holds a masters’ degree in social work and an independent clinical license. She currently lives in Washington, DC, where she works in clinical social work with trauma survivors.
