Raum Talks About Creating Books for Young Readers at Educator Appreciation Event in Fargo, Oct. 11, 2015
October 11, 2015 at 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm CDT
Barnes & Noble is hosting an Educator Appreciation Event featuring author Elizabeth Raum at 2 PM Central on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Barnes & Noble Store #2606, 1201 42nd St S, Fargo, North Dakota.
Elizabeth will talk about how she creates books for young readers, including historical nonfiction and fiction books. Storm chasing. Vikings. Iguanas. Even toilets! Elizabeth has written more than 100 (yes, one hundred!) books for young readers. She is an experienced writer, librarian, and teacher who makes learning fun. Meet this engaging author and educator as Barnes & Noble kicks off Educator Appreciation Days!
Copies of Elizabeth’s picture book, Cedric and the Dragon, will be available for sale at the event.
This cheerful picture book reminds us there is more than one way to solve a problem and reinforces the idea that everyone has something special to offer. The unlikely hero in this story is young Prince Cedric, who was slow to walk, has a tough time with reading and math, and fails miserably at dragon-slaying school. But with kindness and his love of hugs, Cedric saves the kingdom. A gentle message about kindness with delightful watercolors and a lovable dragon.
Teachers are invited to stop by the store October 10-18 for special savings, prize drawings, giveaways, and events the entire week for Barnes & Noble’s Educator Appreciation Days.
