Vet Arts: Writing and Movement Workshop Series Aug 27-Oct 1, 2018 in Raleigh, NC
United Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County 410 Glenwood Avenue, Suite 170, RaleighUnited Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County will host a workshop series to provide veterans an opportunity to explore writing and movement in a fun artistic creation process with writer Mimi Herman, dancer Michelle Pearson, and dancer/veteran Alfredo Hurtado. Veterans and military spouses from all military branches are welcome. The workshop will take place on Mondays, noon-2 PM, August 27–October 1, 2018. There will be no class on Labor Day, September 3. The concluding session on Oct 1 will take place at 5:30 PM. All sessions will take place at the United Arts Council on Glenwood Ave in Raleigh, North Carolina. Cost is $25.
Nina Crittenden Draws With Children at MN Children’s Book Festival, Sept. 15, 2018
Nina Crittenden, illustrator of Cedric and the Dragon, will appear at the Minnesota Children’s Book Festival on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018 at the Anderson Center in Red Wing, Minnesota. Nina will lead art activities for children in the “So You Want to Be an Illustrator” tent from noon to 2:30 PM. All materials will
be provided and all ages are welcome.
Judy Davis Keynotes MilSpouseFest2018 in Norfolk, VA, Sept. 12, 2018
Judy Davis, author of Right Side Up: Find Your Way When Military Life Turns You Upside Down, is the keynote speaker for the MilSpouseFest2018 event series, happening at ten military installations across the nation throughout the year. On September 12, 2018, Norfolk-area military spouses will meet for a fun, interactive day with the theme “Inspire Change.” Using tips from her popular book, Judy will encourage military spouses to manage change in healthy ways. MilSpouseFest2018 events are free and open to all military spouses. Seats are limited.
