Stacy Allsbrook-Huisman

Stacy Allsbrook-Huisman is an Air Force spouse, writer, mother, and advocate within the military spouse community. A parent-to-parent trainer for the Military Child Education Coalition since 2017, she leads workshops and seminars on many topics related to the education of military-connected students. She is coauthor of Seasons of My Military Student: Practical Ideas for Parents and Teachers (June 2018) and wrote the essay “Dot to Dot, Friend to Friend” in Stories Around the Table: Laughter, Wisdom, and Strength in Military Life.

“Being married to the military is not for the fainthearted,” Stacy says. “I know the challenges military families face when they PCS—from school transitions to family balance—can be very difficult. I am passionate about helping military-connected kids find their place in the sun after a move. Connecting is my thing. I want every spouse and child to feel connected while they are still in boxes, whether it’s through friendship or in a classroom.”

Stacy’s passion for military-connected students and her strong communication skills have led her to many volunteer positions, with Department of Defense Education Activity schools overseas, and with multiple Parent Teacher Associations over the last decade. In 2015, she created the website to help military families with school transition issues.

Stacy is a featured writer for Military Spouse magazine, where she covers parenting topics, and is a guest writer for national blogs. Her work also appears in Military Kids’ Life magazine, the Osprey Observer, and GI Jobs.

Before joining the military community, Stacy worked in public affairs for fourteen years for the city of Las Vegas and served as the executive director for the Las Vegas Centennial Celebration. She had a hand in baking the world’s largest birthday cake, hosting a 100,000-person parade, marrying 100 couples at once, and 450 other events and programs celebrating her hometown’s birthday.

Stacy currently lives with her husband and two children in Tampa, Florida.
