Jacqueline Goodrich is the dedicated wife of an injured soldier and mother of two children. She wrote “Strength of a Little Warrior” in Stories Around the Table: Laughter, Wisdom, and Strength in Military Life based on her family’s direct experience with wounded warrior caregiving.
In February 2012, her husband was seriously wounded in Afghanistan. “Since then we have watched our children, and other Little Warriors, struggle through the trauma as well,” says Jacqueline. “Unfortunately, medical treatment and respite have become the priority in conversation, and very few are speaking out about the impact of traumatic injury in families with children. It’s my hope that we can enlighten people with our story and make Little Warriors a priority in the military community so they can get the resources they need to thrive.”
Jacqueline is a strong advocate for the families, particularly children, of wounded warriors through the nonprofit she founded, The General’s Kids. She has also written for Military Spouse magazine.
She currently resides with her family in Alexandria, Virginia. She add, “I am huge Disney fanatic, love writing stories for my children, and paint or crochet as an emotional outlet when our wounded warrior journey gets stressful.”
