Pavlicin-Fragnito Reads at Magers & Quinn Indies First Storytime May 17, 2014
May 17, 2014 at 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm CDT
Minnesota children’s authors Karen Pavlicin-Fragnito and Greg Bancroft will read for Indies First Storytime Day at Magers & Quinn Booksellers, 3038 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, on Saturday, May 17, at 4 PM.
Indies First Storytime Day was created by another Minnesota children’s author, Kate DiCamillo, in honor of Children’s Book Week. Kate is the author of the 2014 Newbery Award winner, Flora & Ulysses, The Illuminated Adventures, and is the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature (2014–2015).
Kate gave a shout out to all authors and illustrators, asking them to volunteer at a favorite independent bookstore on May 17th and read a story out loud — “a story that you didn’t write.”
Indies First Storytime Day celebrates stories and the indies who work so hard to put stories into the hands of readers.
Greg will read Monster Needs His Sleep by Paul Czajek.
Karen will be read Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst.
Karen will be available after the reading to talk with book lovers. Paperback copies of her book Summer of Courage are available at Magers & Quinn Booksellers and other indie stores.
