Amy Bushatz Guest Expert for InDependent MilSpo’s Guide to Self-Care
January 1, 2016 - March 31, 2016
Stories Around the Table coauthor Amy Bushatz is among the all-star lineup of guest experts in the new InDependent online program for military spouses, MilSpo’s Guide to Self-Care.
The free online program will occur monthly from January through September 2016, with each month featuring experts presenting health and wellness content as it relates to military life. Program participants receive a 30- to 60-minute prerecorded interview, book club recommendation, access to a private support group, one group coaching session, and an in-person or virtual meet up. The program is designed specifically to help military spouses practice self-care and encourage them to invest time in themselves each month.
Military spouses can register at In-Dependent.org.
The idea for the MilSpo’s Guide to Self-Care was inspired by the first-ever online 2015 Military Spouse Wellness Summit (MSWS) cohosted by InDependent and Army Wife Network. The event attracted more than 2,000 participants from Kansas to Japan. The next summit is scheduled for October 2016.
MilSpo’s Guide to Self-Care experts and themes include:
- January: “Power of Choice” hosted by Kathy Stoddard Torrey, Tapfer Consulting
- February: “The Art of Advocating for Yourself” hosted by Olivia Jaras, Salary Coaching for Women
- March: “Time Management” hosted by Amy Bushatz, Humans Outside
All participants will be eligible to win monthly giveaways donated by program sponsors like eMeals, Amazon, and Elva Resa Publishing.
