The continuing sessions take place Thursdays\, March 1\, 8\, 15\, and 22\, 2018 from 1 to 3 PM at the library on 12500 Hutchison Blvd.\, Panama City Beach\, Florida. \n“I teach the difference between an autobiography and a memoir\,” says Deborah. “We’ll discuss theme definition\, summary\, musing\, scene\, dialogue … and what I call the ‘tool box’ for writing well and bringing readers into the story.” \nHeart of a Hawk is a memoir of Deborah’s experiences after her son Patrick was killed in combat in 2004. She compiled stories from other Gold Star parents in another book Surviving the Folded Flag: Parents of War Share Stories of Coping\, Courage\, and Faith. \nRegistration is required for the free multi-session class. She says she was “inspired by my two pugs and our little old cat.” \nOnce upon a rug\, there were three little pugs. Gordy\, Jilly\, and Zoie love to race\, chase\, and play pug-of-war. But most of all\, they love snoozing in their big\, cozy basket. Then one day just before their morning nap\, the big bad cat decides to make himself at home in the pugs’ beloved basket! Will the pugs figure out how to keep him away before they get too sleepy?
