DESCRIPTION:Terri Barnes\, author of Spouse Calls: Messages From a Military Life\, will be featured in “Author\, Author!” a literary event on June 16\, 2016\, in Summerville\, South Carolina. She will appear at Lowcountry Olive Oil\, 103D S. Main Street from 5-8 PM to sign copies of Spouse Calls\, a compilation of her award-winning Stars and Stripes column\, as well as Stories Around the Table: Laughter\, Wisdom\, and Strength in Military Life\, for which she was an editor and a contributor. \nSelect local writers will appear at other businesses throughout the Summerville historic district. Visitors are invited to drop in and chat with the authors\, buy books\, and have them signed. Open to the public\, “Author\, Author!” is a program of Summerville DREAM\, Downtown Restoration\, Enhancement and Management. \nTerri’s first book\, Spouse Calls: Messages From a Military Life was awarded first place in the 2015 Midwest Book Awards for Best Current Events Book of the Year and was named a finalist in ForeWord Reviews’ 2015 INDIEFAB Book of the Year Awards in the Best Essays category. \nTerri is the special projects editor for Elva Resa Publishing. For more than eight years\, she was the military family columnist for Stars and Stripes\, a global publication for the military community. Terri has been a member of the Washington\, DC\, press corps and has contributed to several other books about military life. Her work has appeared in Air Force/Army/Navy Times\, The Huffington Post\, and the (Charleston) Post and Courier\, as well as newspapers\, magazines\, and publications in various locations where her military family has lived around the world. \nShe has been married to her Air Force husband\, Mark\, for 31 years\, and they have three grown children. After a lifetime of military moves\, Terri and Mark have made their home in Summerville. \n
