SUMMARY:Suicide Prevention Seminar: Univ of Michigan Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority
DESCRIPTION:Living Thru Crisis co-founders Judy Davis and her son Geoffrey bring “Are You or a Friend at Risk\,” a suicide prevention program created for college students\, to the sisters of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority on the beautiful University of Michigan Campus\, Tuesday\, March 22\, 2016\, at 8:00 PM Eastern. \nLiving Thru Crisis tackles the growing issue of teen and young adult depression\, suicide ideation\, and addiction. The Davis team’s mission is to bring real life experience to an often stigmatized issue by sharing their family’s story.  After his suicide attempts resulted in a diagnosis of PTSD\, depression\, and addiction\, Geoffrey is in recovery and works with his mom\, Judy\, to help other families. \nTogether\, they provide strategies\, coping skills\, and hope by teaching parents\, community leaders\, and families that suicide\, depression\, and addiction aren’t selective. \nJudy and Geoffrey are coauthors of Warning Signs: A Parenting Guide for Discovering if Your Teen Is At Risk for Depression\, Addiction or Suicide. Judy wrote about their experience in “My Son’s Battle” in Stories Around the Table: Laughter\, Wisdom\, and Strength in Military Life. \n
