DESCRIPTION:Amanda Trimillos\, EdD\, and Stacy Allsbrook-Huisman\, coauthors of Seasons of My Military Student: Practical Ideas for Parents and Teachers\, will appear at Military Child Education Coalition’s 2018 National Training Seminar July 23–25\, 2018\, in Washington\, DC. \nThe authors will be among those featured at the Resource and Leadership Showcase on July 24 from 11:45 AM to 1:30 PM Eastern. They will discuss the Seasons of TransitionTM and helpful strategies for mobile military students. \nAmanda and Stacy have two book signings: one during the July 24 showcase and the other later the same day at 5 PM in front of the MCEC NTS Bookstore at the venue. Copies of Seasons of My Military Student will be available for purchase at the onsite bookstore throughout the event. \nSeasons of My Military Student is a guidebook for parents and teachers of military-connected students and includes practical information and strategies to keep students on track across transitions. \nThe Military Child Education Coalition is dedicated to recognizing\, supporting\, and responding to the academic\, social\, and emotional needs of military-connected students. The annual MCEC National Training Seminar is for anyone involved in helping military-connected children thrive. It brings together thought leaders in education\, the military\, medicine\, social work\, and community service. \nSpeakers at this year’s event include Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford and Ellyn Dunford; Karen Pence\, wife of Vice President Mike Pence; and many other advocates for military-connected students. \nRegistration is open through July 20.
