Kate is the author of the 2014 Newbery Award winner\, Flora & Ulysses\, The Illuminated Adventures\, and is the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature (2014–2015). \nKate gave a shout out to all authors and illustrators\, asking them to volunteer at a favorite independent bookstore on May 17th and read a story out loud — “a story that you didn’t write.” \nIndies First Storytime Day celebrates stories and the indies who work so hard to put stories into the hands of readers. \nGreg will read Monster Needs His Sleep by Paul Czajek.\nKaren will be read Alexander and the Terrible\, Horrible\, No Good\, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst. \nKaren will be available after the reading to talk with book lovers.
