Survivor’s Obligation Finalist in Midwest Book Awards June 27, 2020

June 27, 2020 at 7:00 pm - 7:45 pm CDT

Publishing professionals from the Midwest will recognize the best in regional publishing at the 30th annual Midwest Book Awards in an online watch party at 7 PM Central, Saturday, June 27, 2020, hosted by Midwest Independent Publishers Association on Facebook.

Elva Resa Publishing is among the publishers being honored. Its October 2019 release, Survivor’s Obligation: Navigating an Intentional Life by Chris Stricklin and Joel Neeb, is one of three finalists in the Inspiration category.

Typically winners of the annual award are announced at an awards gala in Minneapolis. This year, due to travel and shelter-in-place restrictions from COVID-19, winners will be announced during a free, online watch party on Facebook. The awards program, organized by the Midwest Independent Publishers Association, recognizes quality in independent publishing in the Midwest.

This year’s competition garnered hundreds of entries in thirty-one categories, which were judged by a panel of librarians and booksellers from every state in the twelve-state region encompassed by the Midwest Independent Publishers Association.

The virtual celebration on June 27 is free and open to the public. Follow @MIPAMidwestBookAwards on Facebook for updates.

In Survivor’s Obligation, Chris and Joel share the experiences that transformed the way they live as they seek to fulfill their survivor’s obligation to make the most of each day. The book previously won Gold for Best Memoir in the IBPA Benjamin Franklin Awards.
