Spouse Calls and Stories Around the Table Named Finalists in Midwest Book Awards

Spouse Calls: Messages From a Military Life by Terri Barnes is a finalist for BEST MEMOIR and BEST CURRENT EVENTS book of the year.
Stories Around the Table: Laugher, Wisdom, and Strength in Military Life, with contributions from more than forty military family writers, is a finalist for BEST MEMOIR of the year.
Winners will be announced at the Midwest Book Awards Gala to be held on May 13, 2015, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM CT at the Olson Campus Center at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.
The awards, sponsored by the Midwest Independent Publishing Association, are judged by experts from all aspects of the book world, including publishers, writers, editors, librarians, teachers, and book designers. Judges select award winners and finalists based on overall excellence. MIPA serves a 12-state region: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
Spouse Calls: Messages From a Military Life is a collection of the best military life columns by respected journalist Terri Barnes, based on her popular weekly Spouse Calls column in Stars and Stripes. Through poignant personal stories, incisive interviews, and emotive reflections, Terri gives readers an inside look at the day-to-day hardships, victories, and many ways military life shapes, challenges, and enriches its families.
